About The Position

The City of Moorhead is seeking applications for Temporary Equipment Operator and Temporary Truck Driver positions within the Streets Maintenance division of the Public Works Department. These roles are crucial for maintaining the safety and functionality of City of Moorhead roads, particularly during winter snow events and throughout the year with various street maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience with driving.
• At least one year of experience with snow plowing (for Equipment Operator role).
• Ability to work safely.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor (mostly in the summer).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with winter snowplowing, hauling, and anti-icing to keep City of Moorhead roads safe.
• Hauling snow, plowing, and traction control during winter months.
• Performing street maintenance work in the summer, including bituminous leveling and crack filling.
• Performing seal coating.
• Heavy lifting, primarily during summer maintenance tasks.
• Following safety guidelines.
