About The Position

Denali Water Solutions is seeking a dependable Equipment Operator / Plant Operator to support safe and efficient daily operations in Coachella, CA. This position operates heavy equipment, supports material handling and plant operations, and performs permitted land application activities as assigned. The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, maintains accurate records, communicates equipment concerns promptly, and follows operating procedures and environmental requirements. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness, sound judgment, and diligence. Employees are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to complete accurate operating logs and inspection reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to safety, equipment condition, and environmental compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous heavy equipment, plant operations, or land application experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned heavy equipment, which may include loaders, forklifts, excavators, and Terragator applicators.
  • Support daily plant operations, including receiving, moving, loading, and processing materials as assigned.
  • Monitor equipment performance, material flow, and tank levels; report operating concerns to management.
  • Perform equipment inspections before and after use and complete required daily inspection reports.
  • Complete routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and greasing according to preventive maintenance schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and report needed repairs or replacement parts to the Area Manager.
  • Operate applicators to inject approved materials on permitted fields while following environmental requirements.
  • Identify and flag required buffer zones before application.
  • Collect soil samples and ensure required soil analysis is completed before beginning application on a new field.
  • Record each load applied and update remaining allowable loads in field logs after every application.
  • Follow best management practices to protect landowner property and ensure proper material application.
  • Monitor land usage and frac tank levels; report tank levels to management daily.
  • Maintain accurate field logs, equipment inspection reports, environmental logs, and other required paperwork.
  • Review documents before submission to ensure they are complete, accurate, signed, and dated.
  • Maintain clean and orderly equipment, work areas, and plant grounds.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Immediately report spills, unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment concerns to management.
  • Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to support daily operating needs.
