About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Fairbanks International Airport Airfield Maintenance section, is looking for a Seasonal 'Equipment Operator - Journey 2' to help us Keep Alaska Moving! In this role, you will provide vital support by operating heavy equipment to keep airport runways, taxiways, and roads clear and safe, especially during winter conditions. As an important part of our Airfield Maintenance team you’ll perform pavement and facility maintenance, support construction projects, and respond to emergencies to ensure Fairbanks International Airport remains fully operational and compliant with FAA standards. This is a full-time seasonal position the runs from early fall to late winter to assist with winter conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be an Alaska Resident.
  • Possess a Class A Alaska Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) at time of hire.
  • Must obtain an N-Tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.
  • Must register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety-sensitive duties.
  • Provide consent to the Employer to review driver information.
  • Comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542), which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
  • Pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
  • Pass a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Pass a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
  • Provide three (3) professional references, including name, job title, and current phone numbers.
  • Copy of your current Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with endorsements (if applicable).
  • Verification of education (transcripts) if used to meet qualifications.
