About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region Maintenance & Operations Dalton District, is seeking an Equipment Operator Journey 1/2 to perform essential Highway and Airport maintenance activities. This position involves applying journeyman-level skills to operate a variety of heavy equipment to maintain and improve roadways and infrastructure. Duties are subject to variation based on seasonal maintenance needs. The role operates on a 2 on/2 off rotation and is based on the Dalton Highway.

Requirements

• Must be an Alaska resident.
• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• For Journey 1: Class A Alaska CDL (or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire).
• For Journey 2: Class A Alaska CDL at time of hire and N-Tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Registration with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse.
• Consent to employer review of driver information.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Completion of Education section in application.
• Submission of transcripts if education is used to meet requirements.
