About The Position

The Equipment Operator II is a position within the Environmental Services Department that involves the operation of various heavy machinery, including tractors, backhoes, bulldozers, skid steers, excavators, and garbage trucks. This role is crucial for the construction and maintenance of county facilities, grounds, rights-of-way, roads, ditches, and other county properties and infrastructure. The position requires performing routine maintenance on equipment and ensuring all duties are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of various types of heavy equipment.
• One year of on the job experience operating multiple types of equipment.
• Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License at the time of hire or required to obtain their Class A CDL as a condition of continued employment within one year after hire.

Nice To Haves

• Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment, including light and heavy trucks.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment, such as daily checks on engine oil, transmission fluid, filters, and coolant fluid.
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
