Bay West is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our team! In this role, you'll operate specialized equipment, conduct hazardous waste cleanup, and provide top-tier service to our clients. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 5 - 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B or A required
  • Active 40-hour HAZWOPER Certificate helpful but will be provided to the right candidate
  • TWIC card helpful but will be provided to the right candidate
  • Basic computer skills, such as using Microsoft Office products, communicating through email, etc.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Occasional weekend work required
  • Possess or have access to reliable means of transportation on a 24-hour basis

Nice To Haves

  • Tanker and HAZMAT endorsement helpful but will be provided to the right candidate
  • Experience operating yellow iron equipment preferred
  • Ability to operate manual transmission CDL vehicles
  • Experience operating construction equipment, like an excavator, loader, and/or skid steer helpful

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites and operate vacuum trucks, roll off trucks, and other company equipment and vehicles
  • Accurately perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report deficiencies daily
  • Label and manifest shipments in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies
  • Interact with customers and provide superior customer service during all activities
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
  • Maintain and protect all equipment in excellent condition
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve overall team operations
  • Operate and troubleshoot routinely used tools and equipment
  • Conduct hazardous waste operations and clean-up
  • Develop summaries, generate photographic logs, and input fieldwork documentation
  • Actively participate on the Emergency Response (ER) team – one week of being on-call 24/7 every six to eight weeks needed
