About The Position

The Facilities Management department at CSU is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair and improvement of all academic, administrative, research and campus infrastructure. The Integrated Solid Waste Section (ISW) exists to provide a clean campus on which to study, work and live. We remove solid waste from campus according to the ISW plan which maximizes the reuse of campus waste through recycling and composting with landfilling as a last resort. This position exists to efficiently and effectively collect and process ISW materials and support campus events. There are three positions currently being hired. The regular work schedule for two positions is 5 AM through 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The regular work schedule for the third position is 5 AM though 1:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Overtime is occasionally required. The position is located Fort Collins, CO working in the Facilities Management Department. This position does not have formal supervisory authority. This Full-time, non-exempt position will be supervised by Jennifer Williams.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current valid Colorado driver’s license. Please note, license must be attached to the application.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Class B commercial driver’s license within six months of hire.

  • Use, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials - Hazardous Waste is found in and near the dumpsters and Universal Waste is handled through the recycling program.

Responsibilities

  • Collect recyclable materials and bagged trash throughout the campus and deliver to designated areas.
  • Assist in moving wheeled dumpsters for the front-load truck to access them.
  • Maintain recycle and trash enclosures, compactor site, and trash barn.
  • Clean and maintain equipment: trucks, bins, dumpsters, and tools.
  • Provide support for University events (incl overtime & weekend), dropping off and picking up bins, and post-event cleanup.
  • Provide coverage to CDL drivers upon obtaining a CDL.
