About The Position

The Town of Marana is seeking an Equipment Operator I to work in the Public Works Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in having a direct impact on the Town's infrastructure. The Town offers a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Over three years experience in road maintenance, construction, or related field operating heavy equipment.
Must possess an Arizona (Class A) Commercial Driver License (CDL) w/Tanker Endorsement or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
Subject to random testing per DOT (FMSCA) requirements.
Must complete a pre-employment physical, audiogram, and pass a 50-lb lift test.
Must complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered

Nice To Haves

Equipment transport – transport, haul and/or drive equipment.
Surveying experience - shoot grade.
Computer base work-order experience.
Arizona (Class A) Commercial Driver License (CDL) w/Tanker Endorsement.

Responsibilities

Performs routine semi-skilled maintenance tasks; operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; inspects, cleans and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment.
Completes required daily logs and enters reports; identifies and reports mechanical problems, tracks and manages, materials, and supplies.
