About The Position

An individual to take responsibility over the complete operation, repairs, welfare, and general maintenance of fruit sorting equipment. This role involves setting up and operating electronic fruit sorting equipment, performing general equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Equipment Operator will also be responsible for filling out downtime documentation efficiently, performing and maintaining grading standards through automated equipment, making necessary adjustments, collecting and evaluating fruit samples, and calibrating the unit regularly to ensure proper performance. Additionally, the role requires maintaining all electronic and hardware in clean and good operating conditions, loading equipment with film and mesh, and following safety standards, including fall protection when climbing above ground.

Requirements

  • Intermediate computer skills; experience required using Microsoft Windows (i.e. Excel and Word).
  • Ability to perform light electro-mechanical troubleshooting and parts replacement.
  • Speak, read and write in the English language.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required. Must understand ratios, minimums and maximums and percentages.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in either oral or written form.
  • Fruit knowledge or the ability to understand and obtain the knowledge.
  • Must work with fellow co-workers and promote a teamwork environment.
  • Must have good hand speed and the use of both hands to accomplish the above-described duties.
  • Ability to continuously walk up and down stairs.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. of materials multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to bend/stoop down to pick up equipment 5-50 lbs.
  • Good problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance experience preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Candidates may be required to pass a math and computer test.

Responsibilities
