About The Position
This position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment and performing essential maintenance activities that support safe and efficient street operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Kansas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B with air brake endorsement
- Automobile insurance
- Knowledge of Kansas City, Kansas streets
Responsibilities
- Operates equipment such as dump trucks (including plow and sander attachments during snow operations), asphalt rollers, mowers, weed eaters, and other machinery as assigned.
- Assists in snow removal operations and other emergency response activities as needed.
- Trains employees in lower classifications on the proper and safe operation of equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance checks on assigned equipment and reports any issues.
- Completes additional related duties as required to support street maintenance and division goals.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Other duties assigned
