About The Position

This role coordinates the shipping or storage of green bean coffee, working closely with various departments including Processing Operations, Accounting, Sales and Marketing, the Roast Plant, and Retail Sales. The position involves making shipping arrangements, preparing and confirming shipping manifests, and planning efficient loading of green bean into container shipments. A key responsibility is maintaining green bean storage facilities, ensuring they are clean, organized, and efficiently operating, which includes performing minor servicing and maintenance on climate control equipment. The role also requires maintaining accurate inventory of green bean and supplies, coordinating inspections with agricultural inspectors, and managing pest control measures to prevent contamination. Additionally, the Equipment Operator is responsible for inspecting and monitoring safety equipment and transporting various items as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and taking instructions in English.
  • Good organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Competent in basic Mathematics.
  • Capable of lifting 100lbs repetitively.
  • Valid State of Hawaii Driver's License.
  • Forklift Operators License.
  • Must be able to pass a PUC Physical Exam.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the shipping or storage of green bean with various departments.
  • Makes arrangements for shipping of green bean coffee and prepares/confirms shipping manifests.
  • Plans and schedules loading of green bean into container shipments for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintains green bean storage facilities in a clean, organized, and efficiently operating manner.
  • Performs minor servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of AC’s, dehumidifiers, and circular chart recorders in green bean storage areas.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of green bean and supplies.
  • Coordinates inspection and stamping of green bean lots with State Department of Agriculture inspector.
  • Sets, monitors, and manages traps for pests to prevent contamination or infestation.
  • Inspects and monitors the status of safety equipment.
  • Transports roasted products, supplies, parts, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Takes and logs accurate inventory of green bean, packaging materials, dry goods, and consumables.
  • Tracks, identifies, and lays out bags of green bean by lot for inspection and stamps tags with State grades.
  • Shrink wraps pallet-loads of bagged green bean coffee.
  • Loads or directs loading of green bean into shipping containers and prepares less-than-container loads.
  • Assists with bagging operations as required.
  • Cleans and maintains warehouse and shipping areas, factory offices, and grounds.
  • Cleans and services assigned equipment regularly and reports needed repairs.
  • Makes pickups and deliveries for various company locations.
  • Complies with all Federal, State, Local, and Company safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Complies with all Company Rules and Company Policies.
  • Performs other duties as required.
