Requirements

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery for forest maintenance
• Perform manual labor and assist with skilled and unskilled maintenance work
• Construct and maintain forest roads, parking areas, and recreational trails
• Assist with wildfire prevention, suppression, and emergency response
• Follow erosion controls and best management practices during earthmoving activities
• Maintain vehicle logs and complete reports for supervisor review
