About The Position

Smith LawnScapes is a family-oriented landscape construction and maintenance company serving the Greater Lansing area for over 20 years. We’re a true one-stop shop, handling landscaping, hardscaping, excavating, lawn applications, lawn installs, irrigation, and full snow management services in-house. We take pride in doing things the right way, building a healthy team culture, and delivering work we’re proud to put our name on. We’re looking for a dependable Crew Member/Equipment Operator to support our construction and maintenance teams by safely operating equipment, assisting with installs, and keeping job sites running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, takes pride in equipment care, and wants to grow within a stable company.

Requirements

Experience operating landscape or construction equipment preferred (training available for the right candidate)
Strong work ethics and willingness to learn
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)

Nice To Haves

CDL or Chauffeur’s License is a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

Operate landscape and construction equipment safely and efficiently (skid steer, mini excavator, loaders, Dingos, etc.)
Assist with landscape construction, hardscape installs, excavation
Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Follow job plans, safety procedures, and quality standards
Work closely with Crew Leaders and other team members
Support snow removal operations during the winter months
