Equipment Operator and General Laborer, TEMPORARY - FORKS, WA
About The Position
This is a temporary position for Highline Construction, lasting approximately 8-12 weeks, located near Forks, WA. The role involves performing physically intensive work outdoors in various weather conditions as part of a small team installing a culvert. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and rollers, utilizing hand and power tools, and performing other duties as assigned. The job requires open availability Mondays through Thursdays from July through September, with potential for overtime. Success in this role depends on working hard, working safely, and maintaining a positive attitude. Heat safety strategies are expected to be practiced by the employee.
Requirements
- 18+ years old and legally authorized for work in the U.S.A.
- Previous heavy equipment operating experience
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and safely pick up more than 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Safety-minded with a positive attitude and strong work-ethic
- Reliable vehicle (clean driving record preferred)
- Smart phone required
- Reliable attendance (housing not provided; temporary hires must have their own lodging within a reasonable commute of the jobsite for the duration of the project).
- Availability from 6:30am-6:30pm Mondays through Thursdays is required from July through September. Actual work hours will vary.

Responsibilities

- Working outdoors in the summer – (taking responsibility to practice heat safety strategies)
- Working on a small team to install a culvert – operating heavy equipment of various sizes and types, including excavators, dozers, and rollers; utilizing hand and power tools.
- Other duties as assigned.

- AMAZING PAY! This temporary position is for a federally funded project that pays Davis-Bacon wages for all on-site work. Pay range is $52.86-$88.24/hour and varies by task. Any minimal amount of off-site work (i.e. new hire paperwork) is paid at a rate of $20/hour.
