About The Position

This position supports the safe operation of equipment and the upkeep of Presque Isle State Park. Specific duties will entail operating vehicles, performing maintenance tasks, and assisting with various park projects. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties: Operate Equipment: Run vehicles and machinery under 26,000 pounds for construction, transport, grounds work, and snow removal. Perform Maintenance: Complete repairs, preventive maintenance, and cleaning on equipment and park structures. Manual Labor: Carry out tasks such as loading materials, mowing, beach cleaning, digging, and general park upkeep. Construction Tasks: Assist with trenching, foundation digging, and installation of water or sewer lines. Visitor Assistance: Provide information to park guests and report issues to park staff. Crew Support: Work alone or help lead small crews during park maintenance projects.

Requirements

Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more
Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
Meet the PA residency requirement
Able to perform essential job functions
