This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of company and customer equipment in conjunction with the rest of the maintenance team. Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalent is preferred.
  • 1+ years of Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Service Technician experience preferred
  • 1+ year experience with hydraulic systems preferred
  • Previous crane mechanic experience preferred
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50-100lbs regularly
  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexible availability required; all Shifts, Holidays & Weekends, schedule changes based on demand.
  • Must possess and continuously maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure trailer compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of trailers
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Identify problems with Mechanical, Hydraulic, Diesel, & electrical systems and perform repairs
  • Work with management to establish precise issues and provide efficient solutions
  • Read & understand Hydraulic schematics (pumps, valves, motors, filters, and hoses)
  • Comprehension of diesel engines, fuel systems, & diagnostics
  • Repair driveline components (axles, bearings, ring, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines (Cummins)
  • Perform maintenance & mechanical repairs on side loaders (loaded container handler), hostlers (semi tractor), forklifts, support equipment, trailer chassis, etc
  • Maintain routine maintenance schedules on all Heavy Terminal fleet equipment
