The Equipment Mechanic plays an important role in keeping MNL's equipment ready to support operations across the company. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, routine repairs, small engine work, equipment inspections, and supporting larger repair projects while continuing to develop mechanical knowledge and skills. Working alongside experienced mechanics, you'll gain hands-on experience with a wide range of equipment while building the skills needed to diagnose problems, complete quality repairs, and keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical repair, equipment maintenance, automotive service, diesel repair, small engine repair, or a related field
  • Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to continue learning and developing your skills
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and routine repairs on vehicles or equipment
  • Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and Shop equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to diagnose basic mechanical issues and know when to seek guidance on more complex repairs
  • Willingness to learn how to maintain and repair a wide variety of trucks, trailers, construction and agricultural equipment, and small engines
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
  • Commitment to safety, organization, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, construction equipment, tractors, small engines, and other company equipment
  • Complete inspections, fluid changes, lubrication, filters, and other scheduled maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and reliably
  • Diagnose and repair small engines and routine mechanical issues on a variety of equipment
  • Inspect equipment entering the Shop, identify maintenance or repair needs, and communicate findings to the Shop Manager
  • Prepare equipment for larger repairs by assisting with teardown, cleaning, parts organization, and staging
  • Support experienced mechanics with repairs while continuing to develop your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Complete repairs, reassembly, testing, and final inspections to ensure equipment is ready to return to service
  • Accurately document completed work, parts used, and repair details through Shop work order systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and communicate potential concerns before they become larger problems
