About The Position

Tejas Equipment Rentals is hiring a full-time Equipment Mechanic II at its San Antonio branch. The mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains the company’s fleet of construction equipment, ensuring machines are safe and ready for rental. The role works with the branch team to prioritize repairs, maintain accurate service records, and follow shop safety protocols. Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in construction equipment.
Attention to detail when diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to keep repairs on schedule.
Clear communication skills with coworkers and customers.
Proactive, safety-first mindset.
Must pass a drug test and have a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience maintaining and repairing construction equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Inspect construction equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs to keep fleet equipment safe and rental-ready.
Coordinate with the branch team to prioritize work and prepare equipment for customer needs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records.
Follow safety protocols and help maintain a secure, professional shop.
Share knowledge with newer technicians and others, and communicate and collaborate with branch coworkers.
