About The Position

Baptist Medical Center is looking for an Equipment Materials Instrument Technician to support the Sterile Processing Department at Baptist Jacksonville. This position is a Full-time Days opportunity. As a Equipment Materials Instrument Technician, your responsibilities include: Coordinate activities of the sterile processing department, demonstrating thorough knowledge of sterilization processes — from cleaning and decontamination to packaging, sterilization, and distribution. Ensure quality and contents of instrument trays meet surgical needs. Supervise case cart, SPD, and Core operations; develop and configure instrument trays for surgical procedures. Handle daily processing of case cart supplies and instruments. Coordinate with vendors to ensure trays are complete and sterilized. Collaborate with OR staff regarding instruments and supplies. Participate in departmental planning and committee and engage in ongoing education and professional organizations. Maintain compliance with safety standards and hospital policies. Manage vendor adherence to established practices, including regularly scheduled inventory reviews, payment practices, and contract adherence.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years Instrument Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience
  • High School Diploma Required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - HSPA Preferred
