Responsibilities: 1. Is financially responsible for all equipment in his/her inventory. Equipment issued must be accounted for at the end of the season. 2. Along with other coaches, is expected to cooperatively supervise the locker room and team area. 3. Arranges for cleaning/storage during and at the conclusion of the season- all jackets, sweaters, shoes, hats and any other coaching staff equipment purchased by the athletic fund. 4. Attends all Athletic Department meetings unless excused by the Athletic Administrator. 5. Is in attendance at all interscholastic contests involving his/her team, at home or away, unless there is an extenuating circumstance. 6. Keeps expenditures within the budget. 7. Is cognizant of the tremendous influence coaches and sports have on athletes. The head Coach must approach the task of coaching at all times with the thought in mind that what one says and does, both desirable and undesirable, has tremendous consequence upon the actions and reactions of the young adults. 8. Serves as an advisor to the players on his/her squad to help them with problems. 9. Is interested and loyal to the school’s program. The coach is expected to support the entire program, encouraging athletes to participate in other sports, and to be an active participant in striving to improve the athletic program as well as the total educational program of the schools. 10. Performs other coaching-related duties as directed by the Principal or Athletic Administrator.
