About The Position

Responsible for setting up, operating, optimizing, changing over/troubleshooting, and maintaining assigned departmental production equipment. Accountable for meeting/exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing/preventing equipment downtime, and sustaining budgeted waste levels daily. The work schedule is 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, E-Shift, rotating 3-2-2-3 (3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off). Training is conducted on day shift, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, for a minimum of six weeks (3-2-2-3 rotation). The candidate must be able to work overtime when requested due to business needs. A drug screening is not required. The candidate cannot start until all criminal background checks are cleared. An eye exam is required onsite.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Equipment set-up, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Basic pneumatics, electrical, electronic, and hydraulics knowledge
  • Proper tool use and troubleshooting/set-up procedures
  • Production and downtime record-keeping
  • Quality control checks and documentation
  • Steel toe or composite shoes required
  • Must pass onsite eye exam
  • Must clear all criminal background checks before starting

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment with detailed operational knowledge, within specified quality/quantity limits
  • Set up and debug equipment per specifications, plant policies, and department procedures; clear deviations with supervisor or Engineering
  • Maintain equipment in working order through adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairing as necessary
  • Maintain equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording downtime and maintenance issues (must have clear, legible handwriting)
  • Repair equipment within capability; report major problems to supervisor; assist Manufacturing Technician, Engineering, and Maintenance with major repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance per the plant PM program or as needed
  • Start up equipment; ensure proper machine and control panel functioning
  • Monitor/replenish component inventories; ensure safety guards are in position and functional
  • Check and clean part tracks to ensure free component travel
  • Notify material handler when part supplies run low
  • Maintain accurate production and downtime records (logbooks)
  • Maintain a neat and orderly production environment
  • Monitor in-process quality; address issues to prevent product holds; perform and document required QC checks and process challenges
  • Observe all safety, environmental procedures, and Quality System Requirements (QSR)
