About The Position

Collectors is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering and Quality team in Jersey City, NJ. This role is critical in maintaining the equipment that supports our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. The technician will report to the Senior Manager of Operations Engineering and work from our Jersey City office. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, with a requirement to be onsite 5 days per week. The company specializes in grading, authenticating, vaulting, and selling collectibles such as trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia, with subsidiaries including PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder. Requirements

  • 2+ years of proven, relevant experience as a maintenance tech
  • Hands-on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to work in a deadline-sensitive environment while maintaining quality standards
  • Takes direction well and responds constructively to feedback
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplying & dividing)
  • Basic computer skills (Email, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
  • Curious and eager to learn new processes and systems, asks questions to ensure understanding and shares knowledge with teammates
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Assumes positive intent, treats colleagues with respect, and creates an inclusive environment

Nice To Haves

  • Former experience as a mechanic, service technician, machinist, or similar
  • Associates Degree in Machining or Welding Technology, Mechatronics Technology, or Facility/Industrial Maintenance Technology

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on Ultrasonic Welders, Radio-Frequency Welders, Laser Cutters (with filtration systems), Air Compressors and Supply lines, Deionizing Air Guns, Computer Controlled Photographic Cameras, and Heat Sealers to ensure quality production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop and track PM schedules for process machinery, seeking feedback to optimize maintenance protocols.
  • Perform unplanned maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, communicating issues promptly.
  • Execute machine upgrades and testing with a focus on quality and service impact.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production to implement maintenance logs, best practices, and operator-led maintenance tasks.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements by understanding root causes.
  • Work with cross-functional groups to determine standard maintenance procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
