About The Position

The Equipment Maintenance Technician maintains equipment owned and operated by Red Wing Shoe Company and complies with company safety policies and procedures. The role supports daily operations in an assigned manufacturing area by maintaining equipment, coordinating production flows, controlling material and resource use, supporting safety and quality practices, and pursuing process improvements.

The technician installs new machinery and troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment, packaging lines, conveyor systems, and other manufacturing equipment. The position requires basic knowledge of machine repair tools and materials, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical fundamentals, and schematics, including the ability to distinguish AC from DC and work with 110V–220V single- and three-phase voltages. The technician also works with operators to maintain effective machine and workstation operation, including preventive maintenance such as oiling and cleaning. Work orders are prioritized and completed to support manufacturing needs; the technician must manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Employment offers are contingent on satisfactory background-check and physical-exam results, including a drug screen.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and schematics.
• Basic understanding of electrical fundamentals, including distinguishing AC and DC voltages and knowledge of 110V–220V single- and three-phase voltages.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, including schematics, regulators, valves, tracing airlines, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Ability to identify and operate basic tools and materials used in machine repair.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Willingness to attend educational classes or seminars as needed to continuously develop skills.

• Previous Maintenance Technician or Multi-Craft Technician experience.

• Troubleshoot and repair electric motors and control components.
• Work with machine operators to support effective machine and workstation operation and preventive maintenance, including oiling and cleaning machines.
• Prioritize and complete work orders as soon as possible to support manufacturing needs.
• Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
