About The Position

Vishay Dale Electronics in Columbus, NE is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician for their 2nd shift. This role is responsible for performing electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to identify problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process and facilitating its repair to support production demands. The company is a Fortune 1,000 company listed on the NYSE (VSH) and is one of the world's largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology with approximately 600 employees in Columbus, NE, making it one of the largest employers in the area.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree in Industrial Electro / Mechanical Systems Maintenance or 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Specific training in Electrical and/or Electronic Theory.
  • Specific training in Mechanical Systems Maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and all source materials relating to the operation and maintenance of equipment utilized within the plant.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose equipment malfunctions and return to operational condition.
  • Ability to utilize the proper tools and test equipment to facilitate the best repair possible.
  • Ability to perform adequate manipulation and display the manual dexterity required to operate all tools required to affect a proper repair action.
  • Ability to perform all bending, twisting, and reaching motions to manipulate a load of at least 30 lbs.
  • Must be capable of using all personal protective equipment required to perform the maintenance tasks required.
  • Must use all standard electrical and machine safety practices recommended by OSHA.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Responsibilities

  • Performs Periodic Maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Work assignments are made via cell phone text messaging.
  • Completion of work assignments are computer keyboard entries into the maintenance program.
  • Determine equipment priorities based on production demands and interface with production supervisors.
  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings.
  • Make accurate inputs of repair actions into the maintenance program via keyboard entry as they occur.
  • Receive and prioritize machine repair actions for assigned area.
  • Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
