About The Position
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a mechanically inclined and dependable Equipment Maintenance Technician/Landscape Support Technician to join our team in Baton Rouge. This position is responsible for maintaining vehicles, trailers, tools, and landscaping equipment while also supporting field operations on landscaping and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-conscious, and capable of working efficiently in outdoor environments as part of a crew.
Requirements
- Knowledge of 2-cycle equipment and small engine maintenance
- Knowledge of diesel trucks, gasoline vehicles, and light/heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting abilities
- Understanding of vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety precautions
- Ability to understand, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating landscaping equipment and machinery preferred
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape maintenance preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate documentation
- Experience towing trailers or operating skid steers is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles, trailers, tools, and landscaping equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on small engines, diesel trucks, gasoline vehicles, and power equipment
- Coordinate outsourced repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory
- Support landscaping projects including sod installation, mulching, planting, grading, and site cleanup
- Assist with troubleshooting basic irrigation or mechanical issues in the field
- Maintain clean and organized job sites, vehicles, equipment, and work areas
- Ensure all safety procedures and operational standards are followed at all times
- Work effectively with management and crew members to support daily operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team success
