About The Position

Performs periodic & required maintenance and repair all company property and equipment to maintain production, quality and safety as directed by a supervisor including but not limited to, welding, electrical, vehicle and/or machinery repair. The Maintenance Technician supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, procedures, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. This role requires a general working knowledge of diesel engines, fuel management systems, hydraulic systems associated with large industrial fork trucks, computerized band saws for cutting mild carbon steel, CNC Oxy Fuel burning machines, blaster, and plasma machines. The technician must be able to read prints and schematics, troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, troubleshoot and repair defective equipment, control voltage circuits (12v to 120v), and PLCs. They will repair, install, and adjust industrial machinery, work with remote-controlled overhead cranes, welding, diesel engines, and over-the-road flatbed trailers with DOT requirements. Additionally, the role involves working knowledge of electrical operations throughout the facility, inspecting electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure functionality, code compliance, and identification of hazards. The technician will determine the reasons for malfunctions, create maintenance/repair plans, repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components, and assemble/install electrical panels and other electrical equipment. Performs periodic and required maintenance and repairs on all company property and equipment including yard trucks, forklifts, trailers, saws, plasma units, conveyors, and overhead cranes, as directed by the maintenance supervisor. Works and coordinates with multiple areas of the warehouse and coworkers to complete tasks. Maintains compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures. This is a safety-sensitive position for one's own safety and/or the safety of others. Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks is expected. May need to work overtime and weekends as assigned (depending on business need). Requirements

  • High school diploma or Technical School Degree with appropriate mechanical and electrical skills.
  • 1-2 years general maintenance & repair experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Extensive knowledge of equipment and automotive repair.
  • Able to read prints and schematics.
  • Able to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic pumps.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair defective equipment, control voltage circuits 12v to 120v circuits, and PLC.
  • Able to repair, install, and adjust industrial machinery.
  • Able to work with remote-controlled overhead cranes, welding, diesel engines and over the road flatbed trailers with DOT requirements.
  • Working knowledge of electrical operations throughout the facility.
  • Ability to inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
  • Ability to determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Ability to repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity.
  • Ability to review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.
  • Ability to assemble and install electrical panels, and other electrical equipment.
