About The Position

At Bloom Energy, we are seeking an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy. This role is crucial in maintaining our advanced manufacturing operations and will report to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. The position is based in Newark, DE, and operates on a fully on-site, weekend shift schedule (Friday - Sunday, 6 AM - 6 PM). You will be instrumental in leading a technical team focused on equipment maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in facilities/maintenance management/building operations maintenance.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Hands-on practical knowledge of the technical aspects of production and facilities equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems, tools, and procedures utilized in equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other regulations, specifically those pertaining to workplace safety, occupational hazards, and electrical safety procedures (NFPA 70E).
  • Computer systems knowledge including proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to learn and use maintenance computer software to initiate and track work orders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and with external parties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated leadership acumen.
  • Team player with the ability to make impacts cross-functionally.
  • Able to identify and solve complex problems requiring independent judgment and action.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift.
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a highly technical, fast-paced Equipment Maintenance Team.
  • Develop and implement strategies for Corrective, Preventative, and Predictive Maintenance to support BMCD Manufacturing Operations.
  • Advise on new equipment requirements to support business growth.
  • Evaluate systems and machines to determine necessary maintenance or repairs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Leadership and Facilities Management to prioritize work, obtain permissions, and assess resource needs.
  • Prioritize work assignments and delegate tasks based on team members’ skills and experience.
  • Establish a system for tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as safety, cost, and task completion time, and present this data to stakeholders via dashboards.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Advise key stakeholders on technical concerns and complex concepts related to production and testing equipment.
  • Train team members and track their performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
