About The Position

Burrtec is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Helper for their West Valley Material Recovery Facility (MRF) location. This role involves performing inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of Transfer Station (TS) and Material Recovery Facility (MRF) rolling stock equipment, including loaders, dozers, forklifts, skidsteers, and excavators. The position requires adherence to safe work practices, assisting the Equipment Maintenance team, and working both independently and in support of others. Accurate documentation of work performed on Fleetmate work orders is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

2 years previous equipment maintenance and repair experience required.
Previous experience in the use of hand and small power tools/equipment.
Good interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written skills.
Good mechanical, electrical, and judgment skills.
Good organizational and cleanliness skills to ensure a safe and organized work area.
Be able to use hand tools, portable power tools, and other equipment as needed.
Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel, for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Vocational school and/or training in diesel, hydraulics, and propane engines desired.

Responsibilities

Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and practices.
Assist and support Equipment Maintenance team and activities.
Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance and repairs of TS and MRF rolling stock equipment not limited to loaders, dozers, forklifts, skidsteers, excavators, etc.
Use hand tools and other equipment for the performance of these activities.
Use welder, torch, and grinder in the performance of their job.
Work in support of EM team and independently on smaller jobs/tasks.
Timely and accurately document work performed on Fleetmate work orders.
Perform other repairs and duties as assigned by management.
