About The Position

TRY Recycling Inc. is seeking an Equipment Loader Operator to join their team. This role involves operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining equipment, and interacting courteously with clients and colleagues. The operator must be able to work in a high-traffic yard environment and adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator (preferred excavator operator experience and loader knowledge)
  • Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays
  • Knowledge of operation of Front end loaders
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
  • Professional demeanor under stressful situations
  • Confident, consistent, and decisive personality
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Must have access to vehicle or a reliable ride as they will need to travel to different locations from time to time.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in related field is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Deal with residents and members of the company in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Clean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by legislation and company policies.
  • Operate safely in a high traffic yard.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor.
  • Complete daily circle checks and maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other minor maintenance work on machinery.
  • Check machinery before driving to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
  • Accurate completion of work orders and timecards.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and operation techniques.
  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of trucks is cleaned up.
  • Operate hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and other necessary mechanical components.
  • Operate gasoline and diesel-powered units.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspections, and hours of service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
