Position Summary The Equipment Helper assists the operator in making set-ups, monitors incoming material and the coil feed process, and manipulates controls as required. They advise the Operator in the event of malfunction or material problems. The role involves loading welder with slit coil using fork trucks, coil grippers, and other appropriate material handling equipment. The employee monitors run out equipment, shear, and off-load equipment, checks material coming off the welder, identifies finished grating pieces, and writes up jobs. They report apparent defects or equipment malfunction to the Operator and/or Supervisor and unload material into designated areas. The Equipment Helper performs minor maintenance and reports any equipment malfunction to the supervisor. They also perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor, such as inventory counts, unloading incoming materials, and loading raw material. Maintaining a neat and orderly work area is essential. The role includes restocking coils of flat bar, loading, threading, cutting, matching ends, and welding coil ends together as required. Performing job functions using safe work practices and adhering to all safety rules and regulations, and participating in safety efforts are critical. The employee will load slit coil onto payoff racks and monitor coil payoff while running, ensuring smooth and steady operation. They will unload finished product and move it to designated staging areas, and thread, cut, match ends, and weld coil ends.

Responsibilities
