About The Position

Directs workers to ensure accuracy, productivity, and teamwork. The essential functions of this position require a working knowledge of the AS400 system and the equipment department SOP for all jobs and functions. Under the supervision of the Plant Supervisor, this role directs workers to ensure accuracy, productivity, and teamwork, coordinates daily workflow, responds to routine work process questions, and resolves issues through the appropriate chain of command. The Team Lead must be able to speak clearly in front of a group and conduct team meetings, follow safety rules for themselves and the team, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and set a positive example. They must think quickly, use good judgment in all situations, and promote accurate, timely communication up and down the organization. This role also involves coordinating daily workflow with other management personnel and ensuring work areas are appropriately maintained, correcting any unsafe conditions immediately. Other duties may be assigned as directed or requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 3 years of equipment experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer literate
  • Working knowledge of the AS400 system
  • Understand the equipment department SOP for all jobs and functions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports
  • Proficient in mathematics
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be able to wear gloves occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computerized inventory control system preferred
