About The Position

The Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) is a University of Texas at Austin-supported semiconductor consortium focused on developing and executing a state-of-the-art 3D Heterogenous Integration manufacturing technology roadmap. TIE provides critical pilot manufacturing capabilities to address national security needs and catalyze domestic economic growth. This role involves pushing the boundaries in critical semiconductor domains, including advanced packaging, with the aim of reestablishing U.S. prominence in semiconductor manufacturing. With significant funding from the US DoD and the state of Texas, TIE is creating cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes. The position is located in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, chemical, mechanical) or a similar related technical field.
  • Three years of engineering experience in a semiconductor fab or semiconductor advanced packaging facility.
  • Experience with Equipment Installation Project Management.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and written skills.
  • Dependable, stable under pressure, and adaptable to change.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of Semiconductor Equipment Engineering experience.
  • Master’s Degree or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the installation of equipment, including driving and approving installation packages, managing MEP schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and overseeing the acquisition and installation of various infrastructure components (pedestals, VMBs, LDS, process piping, exhaust, drains) and subcontractors.
  • Create and maintain equipment specifications, SPC charts, technician training plans, maintenance checklists and schedules, process kits, equipment dashboards, and OEE analysis reports for the assigned functional equipment area.
  • Participate in or drive tool selections, equipment procurement, upgrade planning, and parts management.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.
