About The Position

SkyWater Technology Foundry is hiring an Equipment Engineer to support facilities equipment and systems at its fab facility. The role supports equipment installations and modifications, construction projects, and project teams. It sustains and improves facility systems including UPS, electrical distribution and switchgear, chilled and hot water, steam boilers, compressed dry air, environmental controls, RO and DI water, exhaust, acid waste neutralization, gas and chemical distribution, and building automation. The engineer identifies and implements efficiency improvements in facilities equipment, processes, cost, reliability, and KPIs; documents and presents project plans and daily and weekly activities; and monitors, assists with, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance. The role also requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment and performing other duties as assigned. This is an onsite position with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule. Employees must be able to work in fab attire and meet safety and cleanroom requirements. The role involves personal protective equipment and exposure to hazardous chemicals and gases, as well as hot and cold outdoor environments. Applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR.

Requirements

One of the following: a BS in Engineering or a related field; experience in industrial facilities maintenance (the posting does not specify the number of years for this option); or an AAS in Engineering or a related field with 4 or more years of experience in industrial facilities maintenance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to use problem-solving principles to identify and implement root-cause fixes.
Ability to achieve positive results in a team environment.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environmental conditions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and move processing equipment, applicable tools, office equipment, and some chemical drums.
Ability to work onsite at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week; wear complete fab attire for the full shift; meet safety and cleanroom requirements; and use proper PPE while working with hazardous chemicals and gases and in hot or cold outdoor environments.
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Nice To Haves

MS in Engineering or a related field.
Experience with building automation control systems, such as Johnson Controls or equivalent.
Experience with industrial electrical distribution systems.
Experience with industrial HVAC systems.
Experience with gas or chemical distribution systems.
Proven large-scale project management experience.
AutoCAD software experience.

Responsibilities

Support equipment installations and modifications.
