About The Position

Abbott is seeking an experienced professional individual contributor to work in the Pharmaceutical/Biological Process area under limited supervision. The role applies subject matter knowledge to specific process needs and requirements and involves implementing and maintaining pharmaceutical or biological processes. The engineer calculates and organizes data for complex process flow sheets, including instrumentation and control considerations; models processes and unit operations; and prepares operating sequences, equipment specifications, and operating instructions. The position also conducts production-stage tests and measurements, troubleshoots processes and equipment in operation, ensures regulatory compliance, and may manage corrective and preventive actions and investigations.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• At least 1 year of experience in an engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain pharmaceutical/biological processes.
• Calculate and organize data for complex process flow sheets, including instrumentation and control considerations.
• Model processes and unit operations.
• Ensure proper sequences of operation and prepare processing-equipment specifications and operating instructions.
• Conduct tests and measurements during production to monitor variables such as temperature, density, pressure, and viscosity.
• Service and troubleshoot processes or equipment already in operation and solve engineering problems.
• Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
• May manage corrective and preventive actions and investigations.
