About The Position

The Equipment and Facility Sustainment Operator is responsible for cleaning and maintaining production equipment in a manufacturing environment as well as sustaining a high level of aesthetics, both inside and outside of our facility. This role requires the use of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safety when cleaning, maintaining, or servicing machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial cleaning and be familiar with safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and authorization to perform LOTO tasks.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including the lifting of up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Approach your daily tasks with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in industrial or production equipment cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning of production equipment, machinery, and work areas, following safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Use Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure equipment is safely powered down before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Identify areas where equipment requires detailed cleaning and ensure compliance with the company’s hygiene and safety standards as well as communicate any issue identified with the equipment.
  • Clean and or paint various items and surfaces of the facility (i.e walls, piping, etc.). This may require working at heights.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to schedule cleaning times that minimize production downtime.
  • Inspect equipment after cleaning to ensure all contaminants are removed, and the equipment is ready for production use.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and materials, following the manufacturer's instructions and company safety protocols.
  • Complete daily cleaning checklists and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for operation before the start of the production shift(s).
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report restocking needs to management.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training, including LOTO procedures and other job-specific safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental policies, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
