The Advanced Electronics and Photonics (AEP) Core Facility seeks a qualified candidate for an Equipment Automation Engineer position. The candidate will mainly be focused on interfacing AEP Core’s equipment offerings with a manufacturing execution system (MES) software system and implementing the adaptive patterning software. Specific tasks associated with adaptive patterning implementation may include provisioning server, network, and data storage capacity, configuring network and data storage connectivity with the die measurement system (DMS), direct write lithography, optical inspection, and the software framework and configuring those systems properly to work with the software, incorporating statistical process control (SPC) outputs to the system, and monitoring the AP Engine dashboard for processing status and system health. The automation engineer may also be required to provide solutions for automation for some of the Core’s more manual processes as well as software development to enhance the data flow and documentation and identifying ways to optimize and error-proof Core systems. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will interact with individuals responsible for areas such as device physics, deposition, etching, photolithography, packaging, and electrical test to ensure robust wafer packaging processes that meet the precise physical and electrical requirements for our customers. Customer service is an integral part of the Equipment Automation Engineer position. The candidate will be interacting directly with a wide variety of students, faculty, and other professionals to provide services as requested. Skill in communicating technical ideas in a positive and patient manner is a must. This position is funded by DoD and requires candidates to meet the definition of US person as defined in as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 and 15 C.F.R. § 772.1.
