Equipment Associate
About The Position
At United Rentals, the Equipment Associate performs manual tasks that support smooth branch operations. The role provides labor assistance to service technicians, sales staff, and other branch personnel in meeting customer needs. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, cleaning, preparing, loading, and unloading rental equipment, as well as demonstrating equipment to customers and driving a delivery truck to pick up and drop off equipment. Strong performance may provide opportunities to advance into Driver and Service Technician development programs. This position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Effective communication, multitasking, and strong teamwork skills.
- Diligent attention to safety.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Check returned equipment for damage, hours used, mileage, and fuel level.
- Inspect rental equipment for safety decals and safety compliance, and verify it is in good working order.
- Clean equipment and maintain a clean work area.
- Load and unload rental equipment and prepare it for rental.
- Check out and demonstrate equipment for customers.
- Drive a delivery truck to pick up and drop off equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
