Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Provide sustaining engineering support for SiC epitaxial growth processes and related equipment Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to improve yield, quality, and process stability Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools Analyze process data using JMP or similar statistical software to identify trends and drive improvements Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance uniformity, defect reduction, and efficiency Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Support and optimize epi reactors and post-epi characterization/metrology tools Manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-volume manufacturing environment Train and support operators and technicians on process standards and best practices Ensure adherence to engineering procedures, safety standards, and cleanroom protocols Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science with 5 plus years experience in a related field OR Master’s degree in engineering/science with 3 plus years experience in a related field. Experience in epitaxy (SiC preferred) and/or semiconductor characterization Background in process engineering, data analysis, and process improvement Technical Skills Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) Proficiency with JMP, Minitab, or similar statistical tools Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom environments Familiarity with databases and process data systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and support 24/7 manufacturing operations Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) Working Conditions 100% on-site in a semiconductor manufacturing facility Physical Requirements Ability to perform hands-on work in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the facility Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs as needed Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
