About The Position

Nebraska Methodist College seeks an experienced online graduate-level instructor to teach epidemiology, supporting DNP and EdD students. This is an online, 15-week, 3-credit course taught from August 17 - December 11, 2026. There are several scheduled synchronous sessions that faculty lead in support of student learning, but the course is primarily asynchronous. Prior experience teaching epidemiology is required, along with strong public health experience and nursing curriculum knowledge. While the course is developed, the faculty member is part of a team expected to contribute expertise for keeping it current. Experience with Brightspace LMS is a plus! Minimally, candidates must hold a doctoral degree in public health with relevant graduate coursework and experience. Along with the Health System application, please provide two references and a cover letter stating why you would be best in serving our graduate students in this position.

Requirements

Prior experience teaching epidemiology is required.
Strong public health experience.
Nursing curriculum knowledge.
Doctoral degree in public health with relevant graduate coursework and experience.
Completion of terminal degree deemed appropriate per programmatic needs in the assigned discipline from a regionally accredited institution required, with a minimum of 18 semester hours in content-specific related field.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in area relevant to program assignment required.
Ability to provide academic instruction, read, analyze, interpret and grade academic assignments in a higher educational environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with personal computer and standard office applications.
Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles.
Skill in the effective use of resources including time, information and available services.
Knowledge and support of the College mission statement and its values.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Brightspace LMS is a plus!
Master's and/or doctoral degree in related field preferred.
One or more years of experience in teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred.
