About The Position

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs. The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is seeking an experienced Epic Project Director to lead the planning, governance, and successful implementation of our new Epic electronic health record platform. Requirements

  • Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core values
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience may be substituted, with one (1) year of additional relevant experience accepted in lieu of each year of required education.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience leading complex healthcare, information technology, electronic health record (EHR), or enterprise system implementation projects.
  • Candidates must successfully pass the Epic Sphinx Assessment as part of the interview and selection process to be eligible for employment in this position.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, enterprise-wide projects involving scope, budget, timelines, resource allocation, risk management, governance, and organizational change management.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, revenue cycle processes, project management methodologies, and healthcare technology implementation best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Must maintain all required certifications, credentials, and continuing education applicable to the position throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of five (5) years of project leadership, program management, or supervisory experience leading multidisciplinary teams across clinical, operational, revenue cycle, and technical environments preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) full lifecycle Epic implementation as a project leader, program manager, or senior implementation leader preferred.
  • Experience leading or supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, optimizations, or other major healthcare information system initiatives strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with executive leadership, providers, operational leaders, technical teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Epic certification, accreditation, or proficiency in one or more Epic applications preferred; certification may be required based on assigned application or project responsibilities.
  • Other clinical, technical, or professional certifications may be required based on assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the overarching scope, schedule, budget, and quality of the Epic implementation project across all foundational phases
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and core communication channel between executive leadership, clinical sponsors, and Epic corporate representatives
  • Manage project governance and decision-making frameworks to efficiently resolve cross-functional roadblocks and track system dependencies
  • Directly supervise the Application / Technical Manager and provide strategic guidance to all core application build teams
  • Set clear expectations for team members, including defining role objectives at each milestone of the project lifecycle
  • Oversee risk mitigation strategies, actively managing the project's master issue log and escalating critical items when appropriate
  • Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle champions to ensure system configuration reflects organizational best practices
  • Lead go-live readiness assessment meetings and closely monitor post-implementation stabilization metrics
  • Ensure full alignment of the Epic implementation with the clinic's mission to provide excellent, culturally sensitive healthcare
