About The Position

This position will function as a primary analyst for the Transplant and Disease Management clinics, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Specialty, ICU and Med Surg units at Clements University Hospital, and other departments assigned. This is vital in overseeing a wide range of Transplant programs, including Heart/Kidney/Liver/Lung clinics, Advanced Heart Failure, Chronic Kidney Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Ventricular Assist Device [VAD] clinics. The analyst holds critical responsibilities, including performing analysis, design, build, integrated testing, release coordination, and ongoing support to ensure stable and reliable systems across a rapidly growing Transplant program. The role also includes managing structured backlog intake and prioritization, ensuring ongoing optimization and advancement of clinical workflows. Beyond primary responsibilities, the analyst will also serve as secondary support for the Inpatient Hospital group at Clements and Zale, the Cardiology inpatient units, and the ICU units. Additionally, the analyst will act as backup support for on campus clinics—including Cardiology, Digestive Disease, PFT Lab, Sleep and Breathing Centers, and Neurology—as well as satellite clinics in Frisco, Las Colinas, and Richardson. The analyst will also play a key role in supporting future expansion within EMR service line programs and accommodating new requests from UTSW satellite departments planned across the metroplex. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • 3 years progressively responsible business systems and/or Information Technology project experience, with exposure to systems or project development and testing, installation, and training.
  • Experience in Phoenix Transplant, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient ClinDoc, or EpicCare Inpatient Orders or a Certification in any other Epic Clinical Application.
  • Applicants without the stated degree, but with significant additional Information Technology systems and project experience, may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Performing analysis, design, build, integrated testing, release coordination, and ongoing support to ensure stable and reliable systems across a rapidly growing Transplant program.
  • Managing structured backlog intake and prioritization, ensuring ongoing optimization and advancement of clinical workflows.
  • Serving as secondary support for the Inpatient Hospital group at Clements and Zale, the Cardiology inpatient units, and the ICU units.
  • Acting as backup support for on campus clinics—including Cardiology, Digestive Disease, PFT Lab, Sleep and Breathing Centers, and Neurology—as well as satellite clinics in Frisco, Las Colinas, and Richardson.
  • Supporting future expansion within EMR service line programs and accommodating new requests from UTSW satellite departments planned across the metroplex.
  • Collecting and interpreting specifications required to develop new, and revise existing, software applications.
  • Assisting managers with development and implementation of operational plans for new and existing business applications, including preparation of user specifications.
  • Coordinating testing of new applications and changes to existing applications to ensure integrity and quality of data while providing and/or assisting in training of system users.
  • Compiling complete, concise, and comprehensive policies and operation procedures to assist in communicating Information Resources issues to applicable management staff.
  • Assisting in development of new administrative procedures required, utilizing new functionality resulting from system changes.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing business Information Resources strategies to improve operational processing and productivity.
  • Monitoring development of specifications and establishing priorities for accomplishing design and testing of various projects.
  • Reviewing, developing, recommending, and implementing activities related to assigned activity, program, or function.
  • Maintaining and tracking accounts assigned to projects or programs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
