About The Position

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs. The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is implementing Epic, and we're looking for an experienced Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology Application Analyst to help build and optimize the technology that supports our laboratory operations. In this role, you'll partner with laboratory professionals, providers, pathologists, and technical teams to configure and support workflows that improve specimen tracking, laboratory testing, result reporting, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Your work will directly impact patient safety and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related clinical or technical field required. An equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience may be substituted, with one (1) year of additional relevant experience accepted in lieu of each year of required education.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience supporting healthcare information technology, laboratory information systems (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), laboratory operations, or enterprise healthcare applications required.
  • Candidates must successfully pass the Epic Sphinx Assessment as part of the interview and selection process to be eligible for employment in this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience configuring, implementing, testing, supporting, or optimizing Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology or other laboratory information systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting clinical laboratory workflows, specimen collection and processing, laboratory instrument interfaces, Data Innovations (DI) middleware, result reporting, quality control, or laboratory workflow optimization preferred.
  • Working knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, laboratory regulations and accreditation standards (CLIA, CAP), laboratory quality management, specimen tracking, diagnostic testing workflows, and healthcare technology best practices preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze clinical and operational workflows, translate business requirements into technical solutions, troubleshoot application and interface issues, and optimize system performance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with laboratory personnel, pathologists, providers, operational leaders, and technical stakeholders.
  • Epic certification, accreditation, or proficiency in Beaker Clinical Pathology or assigned application(s) preferred. Certification may be required based on the assigned application or role responsibilities.
  • Current certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other applicable laboratory credentials may be preferred for certain analyst assignments based on application responsibilities.
  • Other clinical, technical, or professional certifications may be required based on assigned responsibilities.
  • Must maintain all required certifications, credentials, and continuing education applicable to the position throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Configure Beaker Clinical Pathology workflows, including collection lists, specimen labels, tracking logs, and result layouts
  • Cross-train and act as a Data Innovations (DI) Administrator to manage lab instrument middleware, mapping rules, and driver connectivity
  • Map laboratory tests, result components, panic value thresholds, and automated quality control flags within the system
  • Troubleshoot interface errors between automated laboratory instruments, external reference laboratories, and the patient chart
  • Partner with laboratory supervisors to ensure that the system builds maintain strict compliance with regulatory standards (CLIA/CAP)
