About The Position

Optum EHR Services is building an innovative, comprehensive Epic services capability. Our growing Epic Center of Excellence brings together experienced healthcare and technology professionals dedicated to helping healthcare organizations maximize the value of their Epic investments. As an Epic Beacon Analyst, you will work with clients across the healthcare continuum to design, build, optimize, and support oncology-focused Epic solutions that improve clinical workflows, enhance provider efficiency, and support high-quality patient care. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to impactful initiatives, and expand your expertise while supporting some of the nation's leading healthcare organizations. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • Active Epic Beacon Certification
  • 3+ years of healthcare technology, healthcare operations, or healthcare information systems experience
  • 2+ years of Epic Beacon build and configuration experience
  • Experience supporting Epic implementations, optimizations, upgrades, or enhancements
  • Experience gathering requirements, analyzing workflows, and translating business needs into system solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of oncology workflows, treatment plans, infusion workflows, medication administration processes, and oncology clinical documentation
  • Experience supporting radiation oncology workflows and build activities
  • Additional Epic certifications such as Ambulatory, Orders, Willow, or related clinical applications
  • Experience leading workstreams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives
  • Consulting experience supporting multiple healthcare organizations or client environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide Epic Beacon application expertise in system design, configuration, build, testing, optimization, and support activities
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to design and enhance oncology workflows
  • Lead small to medium complexity Epic software upgrades, optimization efforts, and enhancement initiatives
  • Participate in design, validation, testing, and deployment activities while ensuring appropriate documentation and issue resolution processes are followed
  • Provide technical and operational consultation related to Epic Beacon functionality and workflow design
  • Analyze workflows, system requirements, and business needs to develop effective solutions and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain system build documentation, testing scripts, and supporting materials
  • Monitor production applications and support ongoing system performance and stability
  • Participate in unit, integrated, and system testing activities for oncology workflows
  • Provide application support for reported incidents, including participation in on-call support as required
  • Maintain expertise in Epic functionality and emerging best practices
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system build requirements
  • Partner with training teams to support application-specific education and adoption efforts
  • Build solid relationships with customers, end users, and cross-functional stakeholders
