About The Position

The Epic Ascent Trainer is an expert in the delivery and instruction for the common practice of the Epic electronic medical record system. The Epic Ascent Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering and scheduling Epic Ascent training for Bozeman Health employees and medical staff. This includes coordinating Epic-Led End User Training (ELEUT) through Epic University as well as development and administration of Bozeman Health-specific end user training in coordination and working closely with the Clinical Informaticists. Trainers will be responsible for end user at-the-elbow support and training as needed. Effective communication is key to the success of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One (1) year of experience as a software trainer.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Perform essential job functions successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing degree with active license.
  • Epic certification(s), or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Epic Trainer.
  • Experience design and leading educational curricula and material.

Responsibilities

  • Trains new hires and existing employees to achieve and maintain a high level of knowledge, performance and productivity in use of the Epic EHR across all Epic applications, including clinical, scheduling and registration, HIM, and revenue cycle.
  • Manage virtual education scheduling and coordination through Epic University
  • Conducts assessments of materials, job aides, tools and learning delivery methods and facilitates updating as necessary.
  • Manages replication and distribution of participant materials.
  • Generates educational tracking records for on-going employee education.
  • Development, design, and administration of training programs related to Bozeman Health-specific Epic workflows
  • Works closely with the clinical and operational Supervisors, Managers, and subject matter experts to develop appropriate training and measure success
  • Plays a key role in ensuring the frequently changing processes and procedures are trained consistently and accurately across all Epic Applications
  • Participates in the Epic upgrade process to support Change Management and be knowledgeable of changes impacting the organization and productivity.
