About The Position

Under the general direction of the SERVS Manager, the Emergency Preparedness & Response (EP&R) Supervisor provides leadership and direct supervision across multiple EP&R operational areas. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient emergency response operations while promoting continuous improvement in safety, environmental performance, and operational discipline across Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC). The successful candidate will lead high‑performing teams, work independently, and collaborate effectively across functions to support reliable operations and emergency readiness. Provide leadership and direct supervision across EP&R operational areas including Duty Office, Lightering, Open Water, Wildlife, Maintenance, and Facilities. Actively steward the Loss Prevention System (LPS) to drive continuous improvement in safety and operational excellence. Ensure safe work environments, environmental protection, equipment control, and effective communication to support consistent operational discipline. Identify, endorse, and support technology enhancements and operating, maintenance, and reliability improvements. Oversee performance measurement reporting, cost tracking, and resolution of quality-related issues. Integrate operations and maintenance activities while reinforcing proactive maintenance principles and continuous improvement in safe work and environmental practices. Ensure safe and compliant operations for APSC personnel, baseline contractors, and other contractors within EP&R operating areas. Lead, coach, and develop hourly technical and exempt staff. Manage cost center budgets of up to $80M. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Campaigns to support efficient work practices and system reliability. Promote teamwork to ensure operational continuity and consistency across work groups. Provide training and development opportunities to maintain a competent and qualified workforce. Oversee day‑to‑day execution of work activities and intervention as needed to maintain safe and respectful work environments. Challenge inefficient processes and identify opportunities to improve business effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Four‑year degree. Relevant work experience beyond the minimum may substitute for all or part of the education requirement.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related operations and maintenance experience, including supervisory responsibilities in an industrial or similar environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in emergency/spill response operations and the Incident Management System (IMS).
  • Broad knowledge of maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures within operations and maintenance environments.
  • Advanced experience with business processes and systems within the discipline area.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to both staff and management.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Four‑year degree in technical field.
  • Supervisory, leadership, or work facilitation experience at a TAPS facility.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality programs.
  • Experience with LPS stewardship and utilization of LPS tools.
  • TAPS operations, maintenance, or emergency response experience.
  • Experience with work management, planning, scheduling, and data reporting.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal skills (procedures, SMPs, SOPs, energy isolation, and site‑specific safety plans).
  • Experience interacting with regulators and supporting regulatory reporting.
