About The Position

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, and according to established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, this role is responsible for cleaning activities that assure the facility is maintained in a manner that is consistent with organizational and customer expectations and standards for cleanliness, aesthetics, and safety.

Requirements

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must have 1+ years of experience in commercial cleaning.
• Must be able to read and understand written or oral instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and visitors, including members of the general public.
• Must be flexible and willing to take initiative in identifying and performing work that needs to be done.
• Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, able to stay on task, and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine manual housekeeping work cleaning areas within any of the Museum facilities.
• Cleans, sanitizes, sweeps, wipes, dusts, waxes, vacuums, scrubs, polishes, washes windows, and operates power machines to clean, wash, shampoos carpet, strips, waxes, buffs and spray buffs floors in all Museum facilities, including galleries, offices, and rest rooms.
• Empties trash.
• Reports repairs needed to supervisors including broken or cracked window panes, leaky faucets, toilets.
• Properly uses small hand tools and equipment and a variety of cleaning solutions.
• Observes prescribed safety regulations.
• Follows proper facility and exhibition maintenance procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
