About The Position

This role is responsible for waste management, cardboard recycling, and operating equipment such as forklifts and floor sweepers. The technician will provide support to production, including handling machine fluids and oil spill cleanup. A key aspect of the role involves working with leadership to coach and enforce Environmental & Safety (E&S) policies and procedures on the production floor. The position requires adaptability to a flexible, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment, and the ability to perform other duties as assigned. Additionally, the technician must be able to act as a First-Responder for injuries or urgent situations and provide backup support to the Safety department when necessary. The role may also require compliance with swing-shift hours and responding to after-hours emergencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience required
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment and risks present
  • Comprehension of Health & Safety OSHA rules applicable to manufacturing
  • Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Products including: Outlook; Word; Power Point; etc.
  • Must be organized
  • Must have strong computer and presentation skills
  • Team player
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be able to articulate coaching regarding Environmental procedures
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies when necessary
  • Must be able to comply with swing-shift hours if required

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 Hour & 30 Hour Certification preferred
  • RCRA experience preferred
  • HAZMAT experience preferred
  • Water treatment experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Waste management
  • Cardboard Recycling
  • Operate a Forklift to move materials or products
  • Operate a floor sweeper with a ride on sweeper
  • Provide support to Production with machine fluids, oil spill cleanup, etc.
  • Work with leadership to coach and enforce E&S policies and procedures to the work floor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform as a First-Responder for injuries or other urgent situations
  • Back up the Safety department for minor calls when necessary
