About The Position

The Environmental Technician is responsible for the basic disinfecting and cleaning of the facility. This position is also responsible for the removal of regular waste and medical waste, along with boxes and the disposal of equipment and furniture. This position is based within the Jefferson Regional Environmental Services Department. In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected. Hours vary and may require an adjustment of schedule to accommodate departmental needs. This position is a Safety Sensitive Position, meaning the essential duties require the employee to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. A lapse in attention to detail may constitute a threat to health or safety resulting in injury, illness, or death. This position prohibits the current use of any illegal drugs.

Must be able to follow all rules and policies within the organization and department.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
Effective communication skills

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least 1 year of cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred
Previous experience in a healthcare facility or commercial cleaning role preferred.
Knowledge of hospital infection control procedures preferred.
