About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Technician with AHERA certification as a Building Inspector/Abatement Designer/Industrial Hygienist for their Seattle, WA team. The role involves project coordination, abatement sampling and design, knowledge of regulated materials compliance, technical writing, and field work for regulated materials abatement and industrial hygiene projects, primarily for commercial and institutional demolition and renovation. The position may also support soil and groundwater remediation projects, including operations and maintenance of remediation systems and groundwater monitoring. This is a cross-disciplinary role requiring a mix of office and field work, with the need for a flexible schedule to meet client demands.

Requirements

High School Diploma AND (4) four years of related experience OR Associates Degree AND (2) two years of related experience OR a Bachelors Degree and (0) zero years of experience
Successful candidate will have to pass a Background Check, Motor Vehicle Records check
A Valid Driver’s License is required
Successful candidate will be enrolled in a medical surveillance package
US Citizen/Permanent Resident

NIOSH 582 or equivalent air sample analyst

Possess strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Ability to occasionally travel out of town, less than 25 percent of time
Flexible work schedule, to ensure project timelines are completed
Knowledge or experience in mechanical systems, being able to diagnose and correct any issues
Possess strong writing and communication skills
Attention to detail, note taking skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project team
Intermediate to advanced skills using the Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

Support and conduct regulated materials surveys and assessments (e.g., asbestos, lead, PCBs)
Prepare abatement design documents
Conduct abatement project monitoring including performing quality assurance on contractors' work
Utilize regulated materials compliance knowledge for successful project execution
Assist or lead technical proposal writing, reporting writing and data entry
