Environmental Technician I - Randal Park (Part-Time)
About The Position
Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion - Randal Park is seeking an Environmental Services Technician Level I. This role is responsible for executing daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. The technician will ensure daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. As an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience, this role upholds organizational standards of quality.
Requirements
- Must have good working knowledge and be capable of accessing and using all department related technology systems, such as but not limited to, the Bed Management systems.
- No experience or less than 3 years exp. in Health care support services and/or environmental services, hospitality, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms and ancillary areas, including bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms, and any other areas requiring attention, using designated and appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures.
- Replenish supplies as needed, remove bio-medical waste, trash, and soiled linen as required daily, and change cubicle/window curtains as needed.
- Complete patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards utilizing approved procedures for patient room cleaning, including Bed Management systems where applicable.
- Perform duties while demonstrating working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the healthcare environment for which tasked with servicing.
- Adhere to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
